J. Alan Frederick attended the University of California at Santa Barbara where he graduated with high honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1971. He received his legal education at the University of California at Los Angeles, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1974. While at law school, he participated in the Moot Court Honors Program. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1974. He is also admitted to the Federal District Court, Southern, Central and Northern Districts, California.
Mr. Frederick has participated as an arbitrator in the Los Angeles Superior Court Program and as a settlement officer in the JASOP Program, Los Angeles Superior Court. He is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, Burbank Bar Association and Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He has authored the "Interpleader" chapter of the CEB book, Civil Procedure Before Trial, and the "Interpleader" chapter of the CEB book, California Liability Insurance. He has served as a consultant on several chapters of the Bancroft-Whitney, "California Civil Litigation."
Mr. Frederick is an experienced trial lawyer specializing in products liability litigation, indemnity, construction, premises liability litigation, errors and omissions cases, medical malpractice, entertainment claims, toxic torts, insurance coverage matters, bad faith litigation and appellate work.
