John-Michael Salas graduated California State University, Northridge with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. While attending CSUN, John-Michael had the privilege to work for former U.S. Congressman, the honorable Howard Berman as a political intern. Following CSUN, John-Michael attended Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. During law school, John-Michael was a member of the Juvenile Innocence and Fair Sentencing Clinic, which provides free legal representation to California inmates wrongfully convicted and youth who were sentenced to disproportionate adult prison sentences.

Prior to joining Marrone, Robinson, Frederick & Foster, John-Michael worked in-house for a nationwide construction company where he facilitated compliance and growth in various jurisdictions throughout the United States. As an associate, John-Michael handles all aspects of litigation with specific experience in discovery and motion practice.

In addition to being admitted to the California State Bar, Mr. Salas has experience in educational services for at-risk and incarcerated youth.​
