Thomas A. Foster attended Whittier College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1969. He received his legal education at the University of California at Los Angeles, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1972. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1973. He is also admitted to the U. S. District Court, Southern, Central and Northern Districts, California.
Mr. Foster is a member of the Los Angeles Superior Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel as a mediator and arbitrator. He has sat as a judge pro tem in the Los Angeles Municipal Court since 1981 and in the Los Angeles Superior Court since 1993. He is a settlement officer in the JASOP Program in the Los Angeles Superior Court, and has acted as a settlement officer in the Long Beach District and Pasadena District of the Los Angeles Superior Court. He has completed mediation courses at the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University School of Law, and is a mediator. He also belongs to the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Mr. Foster is an experienced trial lawyer with an extensive background in contractual indemnity, premises liability, construction accidents, construction defects, products liability and insurance coverage.
